Memorial Carol Service

For the last few years we have held a Memorial Carol service to remember our loved ones who have died, while still celebrating the hope we have in the Christmas message. Christmas is always hard for those who have lost friends and family, and we are all more aware of that this year.
This year, our service will be held online (details to follow), and we'd like to invite people to share names of loved ones you would like us to remember at this service. If you have friends and family you would like us to remember at our Memorial Carol service you can send an email garethmreid@googlemail...

Crowdfunding for St Tysul's Tower

At St Tysul, we urgently need help with our church tower.  Our historic medieval tower needs restoring, and all help we can get would be greatly appreciated.  To help us raise money, alongside a grant application to the Heritage Lottery Fund, we have launched a crowdfunding page - click here.

Please consider if you could help us preserve and protect this incredible work of Welsh craftmanship, in a place full of history - Owain Glyndwr himself was 'Lord of Llandysul' and would have known this tower arund 1400AD - please help ensure future generations can know it too...

St Tysul's historic tower

At St Tysul's church, we are looking at securing the future of our historic building by applying for a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF).  This grant will help us do some much need work, and research on the tower, and help us continue looking forward as a church, while continuing to hold our identity, and our place in the community around us.
To help us, and those with links to St Tysul's, we have a new Facebook page for the tower.  You can find facts about the history, the present, and our hopes for the future on there - please do have a look by clicking here

Calan Hen Festival 2016

Calan Hen is an annual festival where churches around Llandysul gather at St Tysul's church.  This tradition started 1833 and has been held every year since.  The churches, in half an hour,  recite a piece of Scripture, answer questions by a visiting clergy person on the piece, and sing a hymn or anthem.  Many of the churches also have Sunday schools, and the children will also recite and answer questions.

This year the festival takes place on Saturday January 14th and begins at 10am with Morning Prayer, and at 10:30am the first church begins...

Sunday School Exhibition in St Tysul

A Challenge

Over the course of the late spring months of 2016, the St Tysul’s Sunday school was issued a challenge.  After the donation of a couple of old digital cameras and told the theme of ‘Glory’, the young people scoured the church inside and out and took photos of things that met the theme.

After whittling down hundreds of pictures to what you see here, they then selected Bible verses which they felt fitted each picture.  Over much discussion/debating/eating chocolate biscuits to help us think, we now present to you the finished project...
